WHAT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED IN THEPROJECT WEEK
In the supported project week, managed by 'Bergwaldprojekt', the group of volunteers achieved to plant 600 young yews in the local forest.
Also, silver firs in about 12 hectares of forest were protected by attaching a bit of sheep's wool to their leading shoots. This way, the deer is stopped being attracted to bite the leading shoots and the firs can continue growing.
In another area of the mountain forest, approximately 1.5 hectares were maintained by creating open spaces to support animals such as insects, amphibians or capercaillie chicks.
